2U, an education technology company based in Lanham, Maryland, announced a new $3 million scholarship fund specifically for students of color participating in its technology skills boot camp courses.

The scholarship funding comes from 2U Inc. and over 30 participating partner universities, which include the University of Arizona and Arizona State University.

Scholarships worth $2,500 will be available for historically underrepresented minority students enrolled in online boot camp courses that are focused on developing technological skills that allow students to move into new careers.

These scholarships come at a time when the coronavirus pandemic has left millions out of work, and some have sought more education as a path to greater earnings and security.
