Verizon customers may have trouble Wednesday morning while the company experiences a reported nationwide outage.

According to the company's outage map, a large part of the northeast, Midwest and western regions are experiencing problems.

Customers are reporting they are unable to make calls and some say they can't send text messages. In the comment section under the map, people are saying "circuits are busy" and they can't make any "outbound calls."

Verizon has not yet commented on the outage, but Reno Police Department said the company confirmed problems to their officials.

"Verizon Wireless subscribers are unable to connect to certain LANDLINE phone numbers, including 334-COPS. **This is NOT affecting 9-1-1 **," Reno Police tweeted early Wednesday morning. "Verizon has advised us this is a nationwide outage and there is no estimated ETA for a fix."

According to DownDetector.com, there appears to be some difficulty in the Phoenix area, but issues are not as widespread as other parts of the country.
