A Colorado-based grocer is opening two new stores in the Valley.

Natural Grocers is opening in Phoenix and Chandler on May 31.

"Phoenix is such an amazing city and a perfect fit for Natural Grocers," Phoenix store manager William Burgos said. "The city provides an ideal setting for residents to live a healthy lifestyle and many of those residents believe in the same core values as we do here at Natural Grocers."

Natural Grocers tries to appeal to the health-conscious demographic. The produce in its stores is 100% organic, but Burgos said they keep their products affordable.  Shoppers have to provide their own bags, the stores do not offer them.

"It’s just one of the many ways we do our part towards environmental stewardship, Burgos said. "Natural Grocers is dedicated to protecting our environment and reducing our carbon footprint."

The big draw to show up for the 8 a.m. grand opening?

Mystery gift cards will be given to the first 50 customers in line. They'll be in the amount of $5, $10, $25, $50 and $100. Customers won't know how much is on the gift card until they check out.

The new Natural Grocers locations also have events planned. Both stores will host four consecutive Saturday health fairs, beginning on June 4.

These two stores brings the total number of Natural Grocers locations to three in the Greater Phoenix area and nine in the state.
