PHOENIX – A Scottsdale woman, Marika Meeks, was named 2019 Dog Mom of the Year by DogTV. The day before Mother’s Day, was Dog Mom’s Day and she received her award in perfect timing!

“Marika’s story touched the judges, a panel of pet industry experts. Marika, surviving a stage 3 breast cancer diagnosis, has committed to pay forward her second chance at life by helping dogs get a second chance too.”

Meeks is an animal advocate here in the Scottsdale area and has even written a book about her dog, Stella. They also have a reality show in the works too that has them going around the county to help families bring new pets into their homes.

“DOGTV is proud to recognize the bond women share with their fur kids. We are excited to present the Dog Mom of the Year Award to Marika Meeks for all she does to better the lives of dogs in her community,” stated Gilad Neumann, CEO of DOGTV. “
