Looking for something fun to do with the family this weekend? Here are some ideas from Arizona Parenting Magazine:

October 2, Friday

First Fridays at Heard: First Fridays continues at the Heard Museum! On the first Friday of every month except March, the Heard will offer free admission from 6 to 10 p.m. Visitors can view the Heard's 12 exhibit galleries, enjoy the cuisine at the museum's nationally-acclaimed Courtyard Café and gourmet drinks at the Coffee Cantina, hear musical performances by local artists and see the best in Native art at the Heard Shops. 6-10pm.  Heard Museum, 2301 N. First Saturdays at ASU Art Museum: Playing around with clay, uses the potter's wheel and turn some clay yourself! Children ages 4-12 and their families are invited to this FREE event to learn about the fun ways to create art with clay. No registration required, all materials provided. Part of ASU Art Museum's First Saturdays for Families program, held the first Saturday of every month. National Hummingbird & Butterfly Day: Stop by the As You Wish station at the beginning of your Butterfly Wonderland tour to pain a ceramic pottery piece - a butterly, snail, worm, bumble bee or fish! Your finished masterpiece will be dry and ready for you to take home at the end of your visit. $5 per piece, not including admission. 10am-3pm. Butterfly Wonderland, 9500 E.
