Country singer Luke Bryan has reportedly been tapped to join "American Idol" as a judge.
Variety and other outlets report, citing sources, that Bryan will join pop-singer Katy Perry at the judges' table when the singing competition premieres next year on ABC.
The network has not officially announced the news and declined comment for Variety's report.
Ryan Seacrest and ABC announced previously that Seacrest will return as host, a job he held since the show first premiered on TV screens -- then on Fox network.
The show is currently wrapping up an auditions tour at cities around the country.
