Valley BBQ restaurant, Porkopolis, is closing its Chandler location, Scottsdale to remain open

CHANDLER, AZ — After nearly eight years in Chandler, Valley barbecue restaurant, Porkopolis, announced Thursday on its Facebook page that it would be closing, though its Scottsdale location, which opened in 2016, will remain open.

"We wanted to let you all know that this weekend will be our final service at our Porkopolis Chandler location, with Father's Day (Sunday, June 16th) our last day," the Facebook post read. "We very much appreciate your amazing support of our flagship location for the past 8 years and we're going to celebrate with a big party tomorrow night (Friday, June 14th) featuring a karaoke bash beginning at 8PM!"

The restaurant is located in a shopping center on Arizona Avenue, just south of the Loop 202 SanTan Freeway.

The location's last day will be Father's Day, June 16. On that day, dads can a free two-meat platter or an entree of similar value, according to the Facebook post.

Porkopolis is home to the $35 "Brady Bacon Burger Challenge," which challenges diners to consume three half-pound burger patties topped with pulled pork, Jack cheese, jalapeno coleslaw, and barbecue aioli, a pound of fries, and a half-pint of beans in 45 minutes. Those who are successful will not have to pay the bill, will get a photo on the "wall of fame," and a commemorative t-shirt.

Those unable to complete the challenge, will have a $35 bill and maybe a stomach ache.

The Scottsdale restaurant is located at 10392 N. Scottsdale Road, near Scottsdale Road and Shea Blvd.
