QUEEN CREEK, AZ — Neighborhood grocer Trader Joe's will open its newest location in Queen Creek on Friday, Oct. 16, marking the opening of its second location in the Valley this year.

In July, Trader Joe's opened a second grocery store in Tempe near Arizona State University's campus.

The 12,500 square-foot store in Queen Creek will be located at Queen Creek Marketplace near Barrio Queen and PetSmart, a news release said. A ceremonial ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held, followed by giveaways and trivia.

“Trader Joe’s is a grocer unlike any other,” said Angie Kory, vice president of leasing at Vestar, the company that owns and manages the shopping center, in a prepared statement. “Between products you won’t find anywhere else, a vast wine and beer selection and friendly employees, we know Trader Joe’s will be an incredible addition to our already extensive mix of Queen Creek Marketplace shops and restaurants.”
