Valley restaurateur Sam Fox is bringing Culinary Dropout at The Yard to downtown Gilbert.
Fox said in a media release last week the 25,000-square-foot restaurant will be the largest version of Culinary Dropout that he has constructed.
On the first floor there will be indoor and outdoor dining, a bar, and two areas for various yard games -- one for adults and the other for kids. The second floor will house a 150-person event space called The Coop.
It will be located along Gilbert Road in downtown Gilbert near the Powerline Trail. It is slated to open in 2018.
Fox has another concept, Doughbird, which is focused on rotisserie chicken and pizza, currently under construction in Phoenix near 44th Street and Indian School. It is slated to open in February 2017.
Fox's sixth location will open in Tucson in fall 2017.
