Because of the cooling temperatures, the Phoenix Zoo is extending its hours for the month of October.
The zoo will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Members will be allowed in early at 8 a.m.
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, the zoo will return to its regular hours, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., according to a news release.
The zoo said this will be "something new for our animals" and because of their feeding schedules, some animals may not be out during the evening hours. Which animals that may apply to was not detailed in the release.
Stingray Bay, splash pads, the 4-D Theatre and carousel will be open.
Daily admission is $14.95 for children 3-13 and $24.95 for adults, 14 and up.
