PHOENIX — Masterpiece Donuts in Arcadia has closed.

The make-your-own doughnut concept and coffee shop announced the news late Wednesday in a post on its Facebook page.

"Thank you! We have so appreciated your support and patronage of our effort to invent a new concept for coffee and donuts," the post said. "Unfortunately, we have decided not to continue to develop this brand. We are closed permanently."

The concept opened in August 2017 in a shopping center near 40th Street and Indian School. It was located in the same complex as Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, Tacos Tequila and Whiskey, and a now-closed location of Even Stevens Sandwiches.

Cake doughnuts would be freshly fried and customers would then choose different sauces and toppings.

A specific reason for the closure was not provided. The Facebook post ended with: "It's OK. It was a fun try. We loved getting to know you all."
