Charlie Levy, the owner of Crescent Ballroom and Valley Bar, has partnered with Live Nation for his newest concert venue, The Van Buren.

The news was confirmed in a news release sent out Tuesday afternoon.

"This partnership is great news for the blossoming downtown scene, while cementing Pheonix as one of the country's leading music markets," said Levy in a written statement. "It's awesome to see a music district taking form."

Live Nation's other Phoenix venues are Comerica Theatre and Ak-Chin Pavilion.

"Tapping more deeply into Phoenix is the next logical move for us. It is a vibrant music market, which we've enjoyed with Comerica Theatre," said Rob Bension, president of House of Blues Entertainment and Live Nation Division, in a written statement. "What a great opportunity to build a new state-of-the-art club..."

Levy purchased the old Phoenix Motor Co. building off Fourth Avenue and Van Buren Street for the venue, which is currently under construction. The venue's first shows are scheduled for the end of August.
