A bunch of new food spots opened up around the Valley last month.

Stock & Stable

Stock & Stable is an American gastropub with a touch of Italian influence. It’s located within a renovated 1950s building at The Colony, a multi-use complex, along Seventh Street in Phoenix. The inside has dark woods and old-world light fixtures, while the patio is large and open. The menu mixes simple comforts (grilled cheeseburger, crispy chicken) with dishes that may challenge your palate (beef tongue pastrami, tarragon garganelli).Read more.

The Living Room

The Living Room – Ahwatukee

The Living Room opened its fourth Valley location in Ahwatukee and the company’s first restaurant with an open-air bistro. The patio has many tables with comfy, large couches. The menu offers patio-friendly and summer dishes like bruschetta, meat and cheese boards, sandwiches, flatbreads, and salads. Read more about it.

Wink 24/Joanie Simon

Wink 24

Wink 24 is the first restaurant for Fernanda Borletti. She says the menu is “simple, relatable and meant to be shared—much like a simple wink.” The restaurant is bright with neon green fixtures, coral-painted stools and a dark wood bar and walls. The fare mixes Mexican and Italian with wood-fired pizzas, cheese and meat boards, crostinis, and salads. Read more about it.

Farm + Craft opened at the end of June and is a health-conscious concept with menu items focused on gluten-free, organic and hormone-free ingredients, but with high taste. Read more about it.

1,000 Degrees Pizza

1,000 Degrees Neapolitan Pizza

This is the second Arizona location for the fast-casual quick service eatery. You design your own pizza and it then gets thrown in a 1,000-degree oven where it cooks in two minutes. Read more about it.

Waba Grill

Waba Grill is a Southern California-based restaurant that touts its menu as low fat, low calorie, low carb and high protein. Its menu is largely made up of rice bowls and specialty plates. Proteins include chicken, steak, shrimp, salmon, ribs, tofu, etc. It opened a second location in Phoenix.

Carlson Creek Vineyard

Carlson Creek Vineyard Tasting Room

Carlson Creek Vineyard, which is based in Willcox, Ariz., opened a tasting room in Scottsdale. There, Valley wine aficionados can try the vineyard’s wines and pick up a bottle to bring home. Read more about it.

Firehouse Subs

Firehouse Subs

Firehouse Subs opened a new location in Glendale. The sub shop has over 900 locations total. The Glendale location features a custom hand-painted mural depicting a vintage Glendale Fire Department fire truck and Glendale Police Department cruiser. It’s the second location for franchisees Paul and Nancy Lukert.

Honor Amongst Thieves

Honor Amongst Thieves is located right above Stock & Stable at The Colony in midtown. There is a staircase in the back of the building that takes you up to the dark and cozy lounge. The cocktail menu was crafted by local mixologist Stephanie Teslar. It features a cocktail menu designed to cater to anyone—those who love the classic cocktails, to those who like to challenge their palate and try something new. Read more about it.

Modern Round

Modern Round

Modern round is an upscale lounge and virtual shooting range. Guests use replica firearms (no ammo, CO2 only) to shoot at a projection screen and play dozens of simulated games. In the lounge, they have some interesting cocktails on the menu that feature specialty rimmed-drinks, like a crushed-Oreo garnish or one mixing sugar and cayenne. Splurge

Splurge at The Orchard PHX

Splurge is an ice cream and gelato spot at The Orchard PHX, a new development space that opened in Phoenix. It also has a restaurant, Pomelo, and a market. Splurge has 12 different flavors, including one sorbet, and 18 toppings. If you have a sweet tooth, they will also have homemade cookies, cones and candy. Read more about it.

Nishikawa Ramen

Nishikawa Ramen bills itself as the "first authentic ramen noodle bar in [the] East Valley." It had a soft opening at the beginning of the month and then closed for a few weeks to work out some kinks. It reopened on June 27, according to its Facebook page. The menu consists of various ramen dishes, tapas and donburi.

First Watch

First Watch

Breakfast spot First Watch opened two restaurants in Glendale at the end of June. First Watch acquired The Good Egg, an Arizona eatery, and all 20 of its Arizona locations. First Watch prides itself on using fresh, made-from-scratch and made-to-order ingredients.

El Pollo Loco

Translated as "The Crazy Chicken," its signature dish is the citrus-marinated, fire-grilled chicken. It opened a new location off Ray Road in Ahwatukee. Its first location ever opened in 1980 in Los Angeles.

Mustache Pretzels

Mustache Pretzels is a start-up food truck that serves--well, it'd be tough to get it wrong--pretzels. But, they're hand-rolled and shaped liked handlebar mustaches! In June, the people behind the dough opened their first brick-and-motor store inside the Phoenix Convention Center. The owners say they'll be open during all major events at the center and will have their truck still zipping around the Valley.
