GUIDE: Everything you need to know about 2020 Waste Management Phoenix Open

SCOTTSDALE, AZ — The Waste Management Phoenix Open is one of the premiere yearly winter events in Arizona.

The week-long golf tournament runs Jan. 27 - Feb. 2, 2020 at TPC Scottsdale golf club and brings thousands of people to Arizona each year to see their favorite golfers (and celebrities) up close and experience the tournament's famous 16th Hole.

Here is everything you need to know about getting there, admission, discounts, parking, the celebrity Pro-Am, and the nightly Birds Nest concerts!

HOW MUCH ARE TICKETS?

Ford Free Days: Once again, the first two days of the golf tournament -- Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 27 & 28 -- will have free admission, courtesy of Ford. On those days, the PGA pro golfers have practice rounds.

General Admission: Entry is $45 on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday and $60 on Friday and Saturday. Tickets can be purchased, here.

Children 15 and younger receive free admission all week when accompanied by a paying adult.

Free for First Responders and Military: Police officers, firefighters, EMTs, and active, reserve, or retired military members can receive up to two free tickets to the Phoenix Open via Birdies of the Brave. Members need to register through Sheer ID, which does have a $1 verification fee. Members will also have to bring their official military ID or badge to the ticket booth at the entrance. HOW DO I GET TO TPC SCOTTSDALE? WHERE DO I PARK?

TPC Scottsdale is located near Bell and Hayden roads in Scottsdale, Arizona. The address is 17020 N. Hayden Rd, Scottsdale, AZ 85255.

There are two lots with free parking and both have a shuttle that will take people to the entrance gates:

  • Lot H: Located near Loop 101 and Hayden Road in Scottsdale. The shuttle runs Monday and Tuesday, 7 a.m. - 6 p.m., Wednesday - Saturday, 7 a.m. - 11 p.m., and Sunday, 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.
  • Lot W: Located at WestWorld of Scottsdale near 94th Street and Bell Road in Scottsdale. The shuttle runs Wednesday - Saturday, 7 a.m. - 11 p.m. and Sunday, 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. There is no Lot W shuttle on Monday or Tuesday.

Need an Uber or Lyft? Read this. Rideshare pick up and drop off has moved to WestWorld of Scottsdale this year. It is no longer located outside the tournament entrance.

WHO'S PLAYING IN THE ANNEXUS PRO-AM?

The Annexus Pro-Am is one of the signature events of the Phoenix Open. Athletes and local celebrities are paired with PGA golfers for a round of golf. Sometimes players will sign autographs or take pictures.

This year's lineup includes former Arizona Coyotes player Shane Doan, Arizona Cardinals player Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona's own country star, Dierks Bentley, and Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Archie Bradley.

Michael Phelps, Tyler Toney (of Dude Perfect fame), Golden Tate, Reggie Bush, J.R. Smith, Shane Victorino, Josh Allen will also be there.

WHO'S PLAYING AT THE COORS LIGHT BIRDS NEST?

Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley, G-Eazy, and Kygo have been tapped to headline the four-night concert series outside the entrance gates to the Phoenix Open near 82nd Street and Bell Road. The Birds Nest is a 21-and-up venue and additional tickets are required to get in.

General admission for each concert starts at $75. VIP tickets start at $285 and include a catered dinner, drinks, and a special viewing area. You can buy tickets, here.

Here is the concert schedule:

  • Wednesday, Jan. 29: Mirana Lambert with Cody Johnson
  • Thursday, Jan. 30: G-Eazy with Warren G
  • Friday, Jan. 31: Dierks Bentley with Austin Burke (this concert has sold out)
  • Saturday, Feb. 1: Kygo with Arizona

The venue opens at 3:30 p.m. and closes at 10:30 p.m. The main acts typically take the stage around 8:30 p.m., according to the website.

SECURITY AND CLEAR BAG POLICY

The Phoenix Open follows the same clear bag policy that several entertainment and sports venues in the Valley and around the country have adopted in recent years. Only clear bags are allowed onto the tournament grounds.
