PHOENIX — Sam Fox is bringing another one of his restaurants to downtown Phoenix.

The Valley restaurateur's Mexican concept, Blanco Tacos & Tequila, will open at Block 23, the large office, residential and retail development being built across from Talking Stick Resort Arena and CityScape, by the end of the year. Fox's The Arrogant Butcher is located across the Street at CityScape. The project's developer, RED Development, announced the news on Wednesday morning.

"This will be a bigger and brighter Blanco experience, specifically created for Phoenix's downtown Life," Fox said in a statement. The nearly 7,000-square-foot restaurant will have a bar, dining room and "new [menu] items to compliment our classics," the statement said.

It will be the Valley's fifth restaurant location, and its seventh overall. Other locations can be found at Biltmore Fashion Park in Phoenix, in Scottsdale near McDonald Road and Lincoln Drive; inside Terminal 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport; and within La Encantada in Tucson. There are two out-of-state locations in San Diego, California and Houston, Texas.

The development will also house a 67,000-square-foot Fry's grocery store. Pam Giannonatti, Kroger's corporate affairs manager, told ABC15 in an email that besides fresh produce, deli counter and bakery, the grocery store will have a Starbucks, a pharmacy, and online ordering with curbside pick-up. The grocery store will be on the first floor while parking will be on the second floor, she said.

Fry's is slated to open in the fall, she said.

Ernst & Young will have a 20,000-square-foot office at the development. Aside from the tenants, when completed, the 1.1-million-square-foot development will have office, retail and restaurant space, plus 330 residential units.
