Donovan's Steakhouse and Chop House has closed its only Phoenix restaurant.

"It is with a heavy heart that we announce our Donovan’s Steak & Chop House in Phoenix has permanently closed," the restaurant posted on its website.

"We thank all of you for your support over the last 14 years and encourage you to visit one of our two San Diego locations!"

The restaurant was located near 32nd Street and Camelback Road.

Dan Shea, a managing partner at Donovan's, said in a statement: "The Donovan’s business model is driven by the dining experience we provide to our guests. When that experience became compromised due to changes in the marketplace that occurred over a long period of time, the decision was ultimately made that our Phoenix location would not be sustainable in the long term."

The closure leaves Donovan's with two restaurants in California within the Gaslamp Quarter neighborhood and La Jolla.

Sarah Baker, sales and events manager, said in an email that Groupon vouchers will be refunded through Groupon.com. Those with Donovan's gift cards will be able to use them at the restaurants in California.
