SCOTTSDALE — Update (Jan. 8, 2021): After a slight delay, Cold Beers & Pizza, the sister concept to Square One Concepts' Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, opened Friday in Old Town Scottsdale, according to the restaurant's Facebook page.
The restaurant is located next door to Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers. It will specialize in two pizza styles -- Midwest thin-crust and Neopolitan-style pizza -- as well as pastas, sandwiches, and other Italian dishes.

Square One Concepts, the restaurant group behind Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, Bourbon and Bones, Wasted Grain, and Famous 48, is opening a pizzeria in Old Town Scottsdale.
Cold Beers & Pizza is expected to open in December next door to Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers along Scottsdale Road, according to a news release.
That particular space has been home to a number of restaurant concepts over the years -- Crab & Mermaid and Famous 48 -- but most recently served as an extended dining room for Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, called Cold Beers and Cheeseburgers Too.
Famous 48 closed in 2018 and recently reopened in September at the SHOPS Gainey Village in north Scottsdale.
Cold Beers & Pizza will specialize in two styles of pizza: Midwest thin-crust and Neopolitan-style pizzas. The menu will also feature build-it-yourself pizza options, pasta dishes, hoagies, and other Italian appetizers.
Here are some of the pizza options:
- Godfather: pepperoni, sausage, onions and oregano
- Flagstaff: spinach, roasted garlic, mushroom, tomato and olives
- Margherita: Wiseguy red pizza with soppressata, basil and mozzarella
- Scampi white pizza with shrimp, garlic sauce, spinach and basil
- Broccoli Aglio e Olio with chopped garlic, broccoli florets, Pecorino Romano, basil and mozzarella.
Gluten-free and cauliflower pizza crusts are in the works, we're told.
Unlike Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, it will be a fast-casual dine-in restaurant with a walk-up counter vs. table service. Waitstaff will be available to help with drinks.
The bar will have at least 20 taps and another 30 beers available in cans or bottles, the release said. There will also be about 25 TVs and a mix of tables and booths.
