It is no secret that McDonald's restaurants in other countries have their own signature items and flavors. There is the Goat Cheese Burger in Spain, the Egg BLT McMuffin in Canada, and the Fried Taro Pie in China.

Starting June 5, Americans will be able to taste four of the popular items from the fast-food chain's menus in The Netherlands, Spain, Canada and Australia. Some restaurants in the United States will carry the following items for a limited time, according to a news release:

  • Stroopwafel McFlurry (The Netherlands): Vanilla soft serve, mixed with caramel swirl and authentic chopped Dutch Daelmans Stroopwafel caramel waffle cookie pieces.
  • Grand McExtreme Bacon Burger (Spain): Quarter pound of beef topped with thick-cut Applewood smoked bacon, McBacon sauce, Gouda cheese, and slivered onions. It is served on a toasted sesame seed bun.
  • Tomato Mozzarella Chicken Sandwich (Canada): Grilled or crispy chicken tender, topped with tomato & herb sauce, mozzarella cheese, slivered onions, fresh lettuce and sliced Roma tomatoes. Served on a toasted artisan roll.
  • Cheesy Bacon Fries (Australia): McDonald's fries topped with Cheddar cheese and chopped Applewood smoked bacon.

“We know our customers who travel abroad enjoy sampling our international menu items. Because we are always innovating our menu, we are thrilled to leverage our global scale and offer popular flavors from around the world to our U.S. customers,” said Linda VanGosen, McDonald’s vice president of menu innovation, in a prepared statement.

The cheesy bacon fries are a return for McDonald's as they were part of a bacon promotion in January.
