Casa Añejo Tacos and Tequila is the latest restaurant to join Phoenix's 7th Street.

Seventh Street has seen its share of new eateries and cocktails bars in the last year -- Joe's Midnight Run, The Herb Box, Mora Italian, The Womack, Honor Amongst Thieves, Cold Beers & Cheeseburgers, to name a few.

Casa Anejo will be located within The Colony, a restaurant-retail development off 7th Street north of Missouri Avenue, and across from Stock and Stable. It is the latest concept from Evening Entertainment Group, the restaurant group behind Sandbar Mexican Grill, RnR, Bevvy and Bottled Blonde Pizzeria.

It is expected to open on May 5.

Casa Anejo will serve "modern, wood-fired twists on authentic Mexican fare," according to a news release. The menu will consist of small- and shared-plates like Chicharrons and Green Chili Queso Fondito, more than a dozen types of tacos, and a do-it-yourself guacamole bar.

The restaurant will also do carry-out where people can order their taco meat and toppings and put it together at home.

Mixologist Riley Jones (formerly at Okra & The Parlor) developed the bar menu which is said to feature craft cocktails and margaritas.

The interior of the restaurant was designed by Alison Victoria, host of "Kitchen Crashers" on HGTV. According to the release, the 200-seat restaurant features white walls accented with Mexican art and tile, fabrics.

"First impressions are everything!" said Victoria is a prepared statement. "The host stand is the first thing people will see and will absolutely never forget."
