It's time for Fouhy's Small Stars! This week, we're headed to the dirt track to introduce you to one of the rising stars of Supercross.

He's from right here in the Valley, he's just seven years old -- and the kid can fly.

Just two years ago, Ryder Bednar got his first dirt bike. The rest, as they say, is history.

Ryder has taken to Supercross like a horse to water! In March, he got invited to compete in the KTM challenge in Indianapolis – an invitation that's very coveted among riders.

“It was like them giving you a whole bunch of stuff like a chest protector, like a neck brace, a GoPro, and a bunch of other stuff,” he said.

Well, not only did Ryder come home with a lot of goodies -- he actually won the race! Sitting on his bike, on the podium, with a first-place trophy!

Afterward, Ryder said he was “really happy and really surprised.” But get this: Ryder's weekend didn't end there. He and his dad flew straight to Tucson so he wouldn't miss his AMX race the next day!

“(I went) straight to Tucson and won both of those races,” he said.

That's three wins in two days! So, yes, in his less-than-three years of racing, Ryder has done very well for himself.

“I have like maybe 60 trophies in all,” he said.

Wow! His next big challenge comes in the fall in Las Vegas at the Monster Energy Cup.

“The scary part about the track is that it starts all the way at the top of the stadium, the starting gate,” he said. “That's the only thing that really scares me on that track.”

That's understandable. Anything else you'd like to add?

“That's pretty much it. I’m done,” he said.

Well, OK then! Congratulations and continued success, Ryder Bednar -- you're this week's Small Star!
