David Glasser, a Phoenix Police Department officer who was shot in Laveen earlier this week and passed away at Saint Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center, was escorted to the medical examiner's office on Saturday. A procession of police vehicles helped transport Glasser from the hospital where fire officials and other servicemen lined the streets wtih flags to honor the fallen brother in blue.

Glasser, 35, had been with the Phoenix Police Department for 12 years. He worked in the Maryvale precinct and served in the unit’s Neighborhood Enforcement Team, which responds to specific issues within a neighborhood.
