Phoenix police Officer David Glasser, who was killed in the line of duty this week, was a big sports fan -- especially of the Arizona Cardinals.

After news of Glasser's death went public, the Cards, Coach Bruce Arians, and receiver Larry Fitzgerald expressed their condolences on Twitter.

Shortly after, Kristen Glasser, David's wife, and family were invited to the Arizona Cardinals' facilities in Tempe. They met Michael Bidwill, president of the team, and were greeted by Larry Fitzgerald.

The team also made a contribution to the Phoenix Police Foundation to benefit the Glasser family, said Phoenix police spokesman Sgt. Vince Lewis.

Lewis shared a group photo of Kristen with Bidwill and Fitzgerald on Twitter.

Glasser served on the Phoenix Police Department's Neighborhood Enforcement Team. He'd been with the department for 12 years. He leaves behind a wife and two young children.
