PHOENIX — A woman who was arrested for two DUIs during the same traffic stop on December 16, 2018, on Interstate 17 has pleaded guilty.

DPS reports that around 3 a.m., a trooper pulled over a car on I-17 near Indian School Road. The vehicle, driven by 27-year-old Ariel Christine Davalos, was allegedly drifting from lane to lane while traveling at about 80mph.

Davalos reportedly admitted to the trooper, "I'm not going to lie, I've been drinking."

DPS says her preliminary breath test showed her BAC at .156.

Davalos was put in handcuffs and placed in the back of patrol car, with the door open. She then reportedly slipped out of the cuffs and ran toward her car, where she tried to put the car in gear and drive away.

The trooper pulled her back out of the car and re-arrested her.

DPS says this is the third time Davalos has been arrested for DUI in the last seven years.

On February 13, Davalos plead guilty to one count of aggravated DUI. She agreed to spend four months in prison and then be placed on supervised probation for up to ten years.

Her formal sentencing is scheduled for March 25.
