Drivers should expect lane and ramp closures on Loop 101 in the East Valley this weekend.
The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers plan ahead, consider alternate routes and use caution in work zones while the following restrictions are in place:
Northbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) right lane closed between Rio Salado Parkway and Thomas Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 1 a.m. Monday (March 28) for rubberized asphalt paving as part of widening project.
Westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) ramp to northbound Loop 101 closed.
Northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at McKellips Road, off- and on-ramps at McDowell Road and off-ramp at Thomas Road closed. NOTE: Northbound off-ramp at Thomas Road will reopen by 8 a.m. Sunday (March 27). DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to use other nearby northbound on- and off-ramps. Drivers who normally use westbound Loop 202 ramp to northbound Loop 101 should consider alternate routes, including exiting westbound Loop 202 at Scottsdale Road to then use eastbound Loop 202 to reach northbound Loop 101.
