There are closures scheduled on only two freeways this weekend (July 10-13), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Here is ADOT's Freeway Weekend Travel Advisory, quoted directly from their website:

  • Northbound Loop 101 (Price Freeway) closed between Ray Road and Broadway Road from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (July 13) for pavement improvements including diamond grinding of the concrete surface. Both US 60 (Superstition Freeway) ramps to northbound Loop 101 closed. Northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Chandler Boulevard also closed.
    • DETOUR: Allow extra travel time and expect delays. Alternate freeway routes include using westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) to westbound I-10 and northbound SR 143 (Hohokam Expressway) to reach Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway). Loop 101 traffic can detour on northbound Price frontage road. Local drivers should consider using northbound Dobson Road or McClintock Drive as routes to connect with US 60. Northbound traffic can re-enter Loop 101 via Broadway Road.
    • Note: Within this overall closure, the stretch of northbound Loop 101 between US 60 and Broadway Road is scheduled to close starting at 11:30 p.m. Friday.
  • Northbound I-17 closed between Dunlap Avenue and Cactus Road from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (July 13) for pavement work. Northbound I-17 on-ramp at Northern Avenue also closed.
    • DETOUR: Allow extra travel time and expect delays. Consider alternate freeway routes including northbound SR 51 to westbound Loop 101 or (in the West Valley) northbound/eastbound Loop 101 (Agua Fria Freeway) to avoid the I-17 closure. Northbound I-17 traffic will detour along frontage road, but drivers should consider exiting ahead of the closure and using northbound 19th or 35th avenues.
  • Central Avenue closed in both directions at I-17 (south of downtown Phoenix) from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (July 13) for removal of old southbound I-17 bridge (as part of the ongoing bridge replacement project).
    • DETOUR: Drivers should consider using Seventh Street or Seventh Avenue as alternate routes.
    • Note: No additional restrictions are scheduled along I-17 in this area this weekend since traffic is currently sharing the northbound side of the bridge over Central Avenue. I-17 drivers should still consider using I-10 in the downtown area to avoid work zone delays.

Have a safe and wonderful weekend!
