PD: Woman killed by hit-and-run driver while walking dog near 91st Avenue and Broadway

PHOENIX — A woman walking her dog near 91st Avenue and Broadway was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver early Friday morning, according to Phoenix police.

Police say the woman was walking with a man and a dog on the roadway south of 91st Avenue and Broadway early Friday morning when a "dark colored" vehicle struck and killed the woman.

Police have not released the identity of the woman, but did say she was 40 to 50 years old.

The driver of the dark colored vehicle fled the scene and is currently outstanding, according to police.

Police are advising drivers to use caution on the roadways going north and south at 91st Ave and Broadway as there are closures in the area.

The investigation, as well as the search for the hit-and-run driver, are ongoing.
