PHOENIX — Police are searching for a suspect after a juvenile was shot near a Phoenix intersection Monday afternoon.
According to police at the scene, it appears a group of people were arguing near 40th Street and McDowell Road when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim.
The juvenile has serious injuries but is expected to survive.
Phoenix police initially reported that three men had suffered gunshot injuries in the incident, and later clarified that there was only one juvenile victim. The victim's age has not been released.
Police tell ABC15 they know who the suspected shooter is and they are currently looking for him.
The shooting shut down eastbound and westbound traffic on McDowell Road as police investigated. All lanes were reopened as of 7:30 p.m.
It is unclear at this time what led to the initial argument.
