We first introduced you to Jackson Fitch last December.
He and his flag football team have a lot to celebrate today! The AZ Ballhawks are set to head to their championship in Dallas. Both the 8-year-old and 9-year-old teams creamed the competition in their regional tournament this month!
The team tells us it took a lot of hard work and dedication, but now, it's all paying off.
"We had to work really hard," says Fitch. "We had to work hard every week."
"The kids earned it," explained Coach Gino Marsocci. "At the end of the day, coaches can only coach. But players have to earn it. They're the ones that have to take care of business on the field. So I am super proud of them!"
Because of the pandemic, the organization is still trying to work out an exact date for when the Dallas tournament will take place.
