Already leading Iowa 28-0 in the first half of Friday's Rose Bowl, Stanford apparently felt the Hawkeyes' humiliation was somehow incomplete.
So, the Cardinal decided to pull an unusual play out of their bag of tricks to add to Iowa's misery.
On first and 10 with eight minutes left until halftime, quarterback Kevin Hogan and running back Christian McCaffrey showed off their acting skills by combining to fake a fumble on a handoff.
Hogan then "recovered" and threw a 31-yard touchdown pass to Michael Rector to extend Stanford's lead to 35-zip.
Not nice, Stanford. Awesome -- but not nice.
