The Arizona Cardinals just lost their second starting offensive lineman for the rest of the season.

Cardinals left tackle Jared Veldheer has a torn triceps and will be placed on injured reserve, Cards coach Bruce Arians announced Monday.

Veldheer was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the third round of the 2010 NFL Draft. He played in Oakland for four seasons before the Cardinals signed him to a 5-year, $35 million deal in 2014. He has been a mainstay in Arizona's offensive line since then.

Cardinals writer Kyle Odegard noted backup offensive tackle John Wetzel "has played well in spot duty" and will be counted on to step in Veldheer's absence.

The Cardinals have already lost Pro Bowl guard Evan Mathis, whom the Cardinals signed in the offseason, for the rest of the year with an ankle injury.
