The Phoenix Suns have signed former Arizona Wildcats forward and seven-year NBA veteran Chase Budinger, the team announced Tuesday.

Budinger, who was selected in the second round of the 2009 NBA Draft, has averaged 8.1 points and 3.1 rebounds per game as a member of the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves and Indiana Pacers. He is a career 35.4 percent 3-point shooter.

The Pacers waived Budinger on Saturday, leading to reports that the Suns would claim him off waivers.

At Arizona, Budinger was the 2007 Pac-12 Freshman of the Year and a First-team All-Pac-10 selection in 2009.

In his NBA career, he is perhaps best known for his dunk over P Diddy in the 2012 NBA All-Star Dunk Contest.
