Attention Arizona State and Grand Canyon students: Phoenix Rising FC is trying to lure a Major League Soccer team to the Valley, and the team wants your help!

The newly-renamed United Soccer League club wants as many fans in the seats as possible this season, starting with its home opener Toronto FC on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at its new 6,000-seat stadium in Scottsdale. It's part of an effort to persuade MLS to grant one of two upcoming expansion franchises to the Phoenix area.

That's why Phoenix Rising is offering a free ticket for any one home game this season to every ASU and GCU student. All you have to do is bring a student ID and another government ID to the team's will call location next to the box office at the stadium, which is located just a few minutes from ASU campus on McClintock Drive north of Arizona 202.

The tickets will be located within Phoenix Rising's official supporters section, with the team promises will be the "rowdiest, noisiest, most intense" section in the stadium.

In January, Phoenix Rising filed an application to bring an MLS expansion franchise to the Valley, but the club has competition from 11 other cities also seeking to secure a team that would begin play in 2020.
