Just one week after he fulfilled a promise to his mother by earning his Bachelor's degree, Arizona Cardinals star receiver Larry Fitzgerald praised another Valley athlete for achieving his academic goals.
Football and track standout Josh Benjamin is the valedictorian of the Class of 2016 at Phoenix Brophy Prep. His accomplishment made him what is believed to be the first African-American valedictorian in the 88-year history of the school.
After reading about Benjamin's accomplishment, Fitzgerald used social media to highlight it.
Benjamin, who plans to continue his education at Harvard, responded to Fitzgerald's praise.
