Arizona Cardinals coach Bruce Arians took a moment after practice Friday to send his thoughts and well-wishes to Arizona Senator John McCain.
“I want to send prayers and wishes to Senator McCain. Great man. Arizona needs him and I just hope he gets well soon. I know he’s in a hell of a fight and we are praying for him.”
On Wednesday, Sen. McCain was reportedly in a hospital in Maryland receiving treatment for common side effects to his cancer treatment.
McCain visited the Cardinals just before the start of their regular season, and is active on social media supporting the team.

McCain, a six-term U.S. Senator, was diagnosed with brain cancer in July of 2017. He has missed several votes in the senate this week, but the most recent statements put out by his office say McCain plans to return to work as soon as possible.
