Arizona State University announced it has implemented a clear bag policy and will allow for the admission of certain plastic water bottles during the upcoming Sun Devil football season.

Beginning with Saturday night's season-opening game against NAU, ASU will allow only clear bags into Sun Devil Stadium. Items such as backpacks, purses and tote bags will no longer be allowed.

"The policies we are implementing ensure security can easily identify personal belongings to get fans through the gates and on to enjoying the game day experience and Sun Devil Football," ASU athletics director Ray Anderson said in a statement.

ASU is one of eight members of the Pac-12 Conference to implement a clear bag policy. The Arizona Wildcats began to enforce that policy last season.

In addition, ASU will now allow fans to bring in individual plastic water bottles to the stadium, provided they are factory-sealed upon entry. Fans can also bring empty plastic water bottles that can be filled inside the stadium.

Plastic bottles are large as 1.5 liters will be allowed. Metal and glass bottles remain prohibited.

ASU is encouraging fans to arrive early to Saturday's game, which begins at 7:45 p.m., in order to allow for extra time to find their seats at the newly renovated Sun Devil Stadium. Fans can click here to find the easiest route to their seats.
