The Arizona Diamondbacks are closer to carving their roster down to the mandatory 25 players in time for the regular season.
On Monday, the D-backs announced right-handed pitcher Zack Godley has been optioned to Double-A Mobile, and four other players -- right-handed pitchers Kaleb Fleck and Yoan Lopez, catcher Brett Hayes and outfielder Evan Marzilli -- have been reassigned to minor league camp.
The D-backs also announced the release of right-handed pitcher Sam LeCure and left-handed pitcher Wesley Wright.
Those seven moves bring the D-backs' roster down to 33 players. Opening Day of the 2016 regular season is Monday, April 4.
