Just hours after confirming the signing of free agent Mike Jenkins, the Arizona Cardinals reportedly have their eyes on yet another veteran cornerback.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Tuesday morning that the Cardinals will meet with former San Francisco 49ers and Washington Redskins cornerback Chris Culliver next week. The 6-foot, 200-pounder missed most of last season with the Redskins after suffering a torn ACL and MCL in late November.
The 27-year-old Culliver was selected by the 49ers in the third round of the 2011 NFL Draft. His best NFL season came in 2014 when he recorded four interceptions, 15 passes defended and 45 total tackles in 14 games in San Francisco. His final interception of the season came against the Cardinals in San Francisco in Week 17.
The Cardinals are apparently interested in adding depth at the cornerback position after starting CB Jerraud Powers left the team to sign with the Baltimore Ravens in May.
The Cardinals will open training camp at University of Phoenix Stadium on Friday, July 29.
