Former Cardinals RB Beanie Wells offers $15,000 reward after brother is killed in Ohio

Akron, Ohio police are investigating a homicide that occurred Thursday morning.

Officers responded to the area of 7th Avenue and Weeks Street around 8 a.m. for a report of a shooting, police said.

Once on scene, officers found a 31-year-old man lying in a driveway with a gunshot wound to the head, according to police.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene, police said.

Family members have identified the victim as Joel Wells. He is the brother of former Arizona Cardinals running back Chris "Beanie" Wells.

Beanie Wells tells News 5 in Cleveland that he is offering a $15,000 reward for the arrest of the shooter. Summit County Crime Stoppers is also offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to the killer.

There are no suspects at this time.
