Former Browns wide receiver and Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor was stabbed at an apartment complex in Pittsburgh, according to ABC affiliate WTAE.

Pryor, 30, was stabbed in the chest and shoulder at his Heinz Lofts apartment complex residence overnight, WTAE reported.

Pryor underwent surgery Saturday morning. He is in critical condition but expected to survive, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

A woman is in custody in connection with the stabbing, according to WTAE.

Pryor was the starting quarterback for the Buckeyes from 2008 to 2010, winning the Big Ten championship twice.

After being drafted by the Raiders in the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft, Pryor spent time on several teams before converting to a wide receiver in 2015 after being claimed off waivers by the Browns.

The Jeannette, Pennsylvania native recorded 1,049 receiving yards for four touchdowns in his two seasons with the Browns. He signed with the Redskins in 2017 and later spent time on the Jets, Bills, and Jaguars.

Pryor is currently a free agent.
