The Arizona Diamondbacks have signed infielder Wilmer Flores to a 1-year deal, the team announced Monday.

The 27-year-old Venezuela native was signed by the New York Mets as an international free agent on his 16th birthday in 2007. He played for the New York Mets from 2013-18 and is a career .262 hitter. He hit .267 with 11 home runs, 25 doubles and 51 RBIs in 126 games last season.

A true utility infielder, Flores has played 162 career games at shortstop, 143 games at third base, 139 games at first base and 101 games at second base.

Flores is a clutch hitter: He had an MLB-best four walk-off RBIs last season, and he has 10 walk-off RBIs since 2014, the most in all of MLB during that span and the most in Mets history.
