Arizona Cardinals star defensive end Chandler Jones has doubled his original promise by agreeing to donate $40,000 to Phoenix Children's Hospital, the Cardinals said Wednesday.
Jones had said he would donate $20,000 to PCH for each sack he made in the Cardinals' final two games of the 2018 regular season. He recorded one sack in those games -- at the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday -- but the Cardinals said Jones has decided to donate $40,000 to the hospital.
“We are going through a tough stretch right now but we all know there are people who are dealing with much tougher situations. I’m happy to do this and it will give me even more incentive to finish the season strong," Jones said when he made his original guarantee.
Jones finished the 2018 season with 13 sacks; only seven players recorded more. He led the NFL with 17 sacks last season.
