The Arizona State Sun Devils have put together an impressive recruiting class heading into next season, headlined by three highly-touted freshmen quarterbacks, including the nation's top dual-threat QB.

ASU coach Herm Edwards and his staff met with the media to discuss all 17 members of ASU's early signing period class Wednesday -- and during the press conference, Edwards also introduced us to a mythical football player who he has apparently been chasing for quite a while.

"You’re wondering: Who is this guy? That’s my guy. That’s the mystical man, Mandrake," Edwards said, pointing to an artist's rendering of a man with wings and rock-hard abs wearing a Sun Devil football uniform. "When I started coaching football a long time ago, I would always tell my players: I’m looking for Mandrake."

At the bottom of the poster are the characteristics that Mandrake embodies: strength, speed, athleticism, aggressive, high motor, and mentally tough.

"Those are the kinds of guys we want to bring in. We want to bring in some Mandrake guys," Edwards said. "I haven’t found him yet, but I’m looking for him. And that’s the whole key. We want guys like that. Who wouldn’t want a bunch of guys like that?"
