After salvaging a draw thanks to a Jason Johnson header in the 93rd minute in the season opener, Phoenix Rising FC heads home this week for their home opener.
“In a difficult moment, we saw what they’re capable of doing,” Head Coach Rick Schantz said.
The defending USL Western Conference champs are looking for their first win against the expansion New Mexico United, who drew last week in their first ever match.
“We need to be able to impose our will against them right away,” said. “They’re a good team, and they’ve got a lot of experience.”
