PHOENIX – There’s no other way to say it. Phoenix Rising is the most impressive team in the Valley and in the sports world. They’ve shattered countless records this season. Plus, the team still has five more regular season games left to play.

Phoenix Rising doubled the previous USL consecutive win record with 20 wins after beating LA Galaxy 4-1 at home September 14.

They also clinched the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference. They’ll host every playoff round through the conference finals.

Phoenix Rising also broke two more USL records after Saturday’s game. Including, most team goals scored in a season (77) and most goals scored by a pair of teammates in a season (37) between Solomon Asante and Adam Jahn.

Phoenix Rising started strong with a goal from Asante in the 10th minute. Just five minutes later, Junior Flemmings put himself on the board.

Before the first half was over, Flemmings extended the lead to 3-0 with a header goal.

The Rising helped put LA on the board with an own goal, and a minute later, they corrected their mistake with a Ben Spencer goal, making it 4-1.

Shortly after, play was suspended when a non-Phoenix Rising fan threw an object on the field. Next, a Phoenix Rising fan threw an object at a LA Galaxy II player. The game was then ended by the referee at 4-1.

Phoenix Rising Vice President, Sam Doerr put out an unofficial press release condemning the actions that took place at Casino Arizona Field Saturday night.

The club followed with an official statement via Twitter.

Phoenix Rising looks to continue their record breaking season this Saturday against Fresno FC at 7:30 p.m. Catch the game live on Your Phoenix CW channels 6 & 61.1.
