As state troopers continue to investigate each and every claim of a shot-out vehicle window along Arizona's freeways, officials are careful in choosing how they describe each incident.

According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, 8 of the 11 confirmed shootings involved a bullet.

The remaining three involved a projectile of some sort, which could be debris, a BB or something else.

DPS spokesman Bart Graves said Thursday going forward the agency will consider each incident as a projectile until proven otherwise.

Officials have warned the public to "stay vigilant" and to contact authorities if they see anything.

Anyone with information or tips is encouraged to call Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or the DPS tip line at 602-644-5805. Silent Witness increased the reward for information leading to the arrest of the alleged shooter, or shooters, from $5,000 to $20,000.
