A pregnant woman and her two young children are hospitalized after a serious car accident in San Tan Valley.
The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office received reports around 5:30 p.m. about a crash involving two cars near Hunt Highway and Stone Creek Drive.
According to a PCSO spokeswoman, a woman was attempting to make a left-hand turn into a parking lot when her passenger’s side was struck by a truck heading northbound on Hunt Highway.
The woman’s car was pushed into a light post and a tree, officials said. She was driving with her 4-year-old and 5-year-old children. She is also six months pregnant.
PCSO originally reported that the woman is hospitalized in serious condition and that her kids suffered critical injuries. They've since provided an update saying all victims are expected to be OK.
Impairment and speed are not believed to be factors and authorities said no charges are expected. The accident investigation is ongoing.
Drivers are urged to avoid the area for the best several hours. Check for the latest traffic conditions.
It’s unknown if any charges are being filed against either driver.
