KINGMAN, AZ — A Kingman woman is behind bars after fleeing from a cab and running into a stranger's home.

Mohave County Sheriff's officials say they were dispatched to the call before noon Monday.

A cab driver alerted MCSO to the incident, saying 56-year-old Marie Chantal Griesser offered her partial payment. She reportedly said she would go inside the home where the driver took her to get the rest of the money.

Griesser exited the cab and ran inside the home, which was not her residence. A woman inside the home chased Griesser outside, but Griesser stayed until deputies arrived.

Deputies were able to take Griesser into custody without incident.

She reportedly told deputies that she ran into the home because her husband was being held hostage there. However, deputies were not able to locate her husband inside the home.

Griesser was booked into jail for first-degree criminal trespassing and theft of services.
