A former NFL player and Valley resident is being considered the primary suspect in connection with the death of his wife, according to law enforcement officials in Utah.

Summit County Attorney Margaret Olson said 28-year-old Keri "KC" McClanahan was found dead early Thursday at the Park Regency Condominiums in Park City, Utah.

Officials say the apparent cause of death was several knife wounds to her throat.

Her husband, former NFL player Anthony McClanahan, is considered the primary suspect, Olson said. He was arrested Friday, but not yet charged in his wife's death.

McClanahan was charged Friday with child kidnapping after authorities said he took his 8-year-old son from an Arizona school on Oct. 3 without the mother's permission, then traveled through Nevada and Utah.

He was apprehended in Utah on Oct. 12 and gave his son back. He bonded out of jail a week later.

McClanahan is being held without bail, and it's unknown if he has an attorney.

He was a linebacker at Washington State from 1991-1993, and had a brief stint with the Dallas Cowboys.
