Border Patrol agents in Arizona rescued a 6-year-old boy after he was abandoned by a smuggler.
The US Customs and Border Protection said agents discovered the Costa Rican boy west of Lukeville on Tuesday night.
The boy told agents he was dropped off and that Border Patrol would pick him up. He went on to say he was on his way to see his parents in the US.
The child was transported in good condition to a processing center in Tucson.
If you ever see anyone in distress in a desert area, Border Patrol asks that you call 911.
Lukeville is about 15 minutes north of the US/Mexico border.
