PHOENIX — America's beer industry has a frothy effect on the Arizona economy, according to a national study.
The industry contributes $5.4 billion annually to the state's economy and supports 43,952 Arizona jobs, according to a joint study by the National Beer Wholesalers Association and the Beer Institute.
The jobs impacted by the beer industry in Arizona account for $1.8 billion each year in wages and benefits, while the industry also generates $956 million annually in business, personal and consumption taxes, according to the study, conducted by John Dunham & Associates.
Nationwide, the beer industry generates more than $328 billion in economic activity, the study said.
